Empowering Lives Through Service

The Busisiwe Bhembe Foundation was created to honour the life and legacy of a remarkable mother who gave everything to help her children succeed. Known for her kindness and servant leadership, Busisiwe Bhembe showed love through action—caring not only for her family but also for others in her community.

After her passing in January 2021 due to COVID-19, her daughter Colisile Tfwala was inspired to carry on her spirit of service by giving back to Africa. The Foundation is built on love for the continent, strong faith in God, and a deep belief that Africans can change their lives and uplift others.

Through financial literacy, entrepreneurship development and youth mentorship, the Foundation works to create lasting change for Africans and People of African Descent. Our flagship programme partners with orphanages across Eswatini, with plans to expand throughout Africa. We empower children and youth through a holistic approach that nurtures healing, builds confidence, develops leadership skills, and strengthens financial literacy and entrepreneurial capacity. This programme addresses the urgent need to equip young people leaving orphanages with the tools and support they need to lead independent, productive, and dignified lives.

The Foundation implements four key programmes: Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship Development, Youth Mentorship, and the Orphanage Empowerment Programme, each designed to empower and transform lives.

The Financial Literacy Programme

The Financial Literacy Programme is designed to empower children, their parents, and young people with essential financial skills to create generational wealth.

Generational wealth creation

At the Busisiwe Bhembe Foundation, we believe that true youth empowerment means equipping young people with the knowledge and mindset to create generational wealth. That’s why we are committed to delivering comprehensive financial literacy training in tertiary institutions, churches, communities and orphanages. Our curriculum is designed to transform not only how young people manage money, but how they think and feel about it — empowering them to build lasting financial stability and legacy. We also empower parents and guardians to support young people in building generational wealth.

Youth Mentorship Programme

The Youth Mentorship Programme is rooted in Personal Development, Holistic Wellness, Servant Leadership, and Financial Literacy. Our financial literacy curriculum goes beyond numbers — it explores the spirituality and psychology of money, as well as practical strategies for day-to-day money management, equipping young people with the mindset and tools to thrive financially and lead with purpose as a servant of the people.

Africa’s youth are the leaders our future depends on. This programme equips them to start leading now and lead with purpose through servant leadership.

Entrepreneurship development programme

In partnership with Africa Job Creation Opportunities, the Foundation has hosted a series of skills development trainings in areas such as fruit and vegetable processing and preservation, meat processing, baking (cakes and buns), preparation of summer delights, sauce and salad dressing production, sweets and chocolate making, as well as soap and detergent manufacturing. These trainings are designed to equip participants with practical, income-generating skills that promote entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

Orphanages Empowerment Programme

This programme empowers children, youth, and their caregivers across Residential Child Care Facilities (Orphanages) in Eswatini through a holistic intervention that fosters healing, builds confidence, and strengthens leadership and entrepreneurship capacity. It is anchored in six key components.
